Case Studies

etc.venues

The brief was to create an award winning website that reflected etc.venues brand attributes of being friendly, approachable, inclusive and understatedly cool, without taking itself too seriously. The design of their venues is beautifully simple but aspirational, tasteful, cool and funky - the sort of rooms you would design yourself if you could and the website needed to feel the same.

At the same time the website needed to provide visitors with concise information, the opportunity to communicate with etc.venues and to allow bookings to be made - directly into their existing EBMS management software.

etc.venues also needed a framework that is very adaptable and allows style and design changes on a very regular basis, thus keeping the site fresh and visitors feeling like they have not seen the content before. They also had a requirement to be able to drop in multimedia formats if required, to move away from a reliance on static pictures.

The design and development process took a team of four people at ib3 a total of 8 weeks to complete. The end-result really speaks for itself and can be seen at etcvenues.co.uk.

This is a complex website with many advanced coding techniques supporting what the visitor sees from the front-end. etc.venues have complete control over all of the website's content through a custom built content management system, which not only enable the marketing team to update site content, but other departments too and without extensive training.

A critical part of any website development process today includes ensuring that the structure and content is produced in such a way that the website pages will perform well in search engine results. It was 6 weeks ago that the new website was launched and already it can be found within the top 5 natural positions for the 10 key search terms highlighted through previous search activity. For example, try a search for "conference rooms" or "training venues". Amazingly a Google search for just "etc" returns over a billion results and etc.venues appears on the first page!

David Owen, etc.venues Head of Marketing, was kind enough to provide us with a glowing testimonial in which he expresses his pleasure in working with ib3 and the high level of service he experienced throughout the project cycle.

No awards yet, but watch this space!
